Local Priorities Personal theft - Parcel Theft

I wanted to provide you an update regarding Personal theft (e.g. pick pocketing, no violence used), which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

Unfortunately there have been an increased number of reports about parcel theft from doorsteps and communal areas of flats. When we've been talking to some residents about thefts that have occurred at their property, it has become apparent that some fairly simple preventative measures may help such as:

- Try and schedule a delivery for a time when someone is likely to be home.
- If being at home isn't possible, consider getting your parcel delivered to the Post Office, local independent business or parcel locker.
- If you receive lots of personal parcels or are a business premises, it might be a good investment to look at purchasing an outdoor parcel box which is secured to the ground or a wall.
